Content versus Structure

Healing of Malformed Structures of Consciousness

Content of consciousness

Most problems of consciousness (like distortion of or inappropriate reactions to perceptions, thoughts or memories, destructive patterns of behaviour or emotions, etc.) are rooted in trauma. With physical problems the root causes are propably similar, even though the connection is often an indirect one. This tries to say, that many physical problems like lifestyle diseases or accidents can be traced back to destructive patterns of behaviour and emotions, which are stemming from trauma.

In a simplified way we might say, that every trauma was a moment of life unlived. When pain became too intense (see the graph to the right), we refused and checked out. The pain we have avoided is not gone, but waits for us to be received. It is stored for future recognition. If we come near this storage area, it tries to get our attention - we are experiencing trauma symptoms.

It is also a simplification, but you can imagine traumas of the exact same quality to be stored on top of each other. Stanislav Grof speaks of a 'trauma-stack', while Grant McFetridge calls it a 'trauma-string' (see second picture to the right). If we not only want to deactivate a trauma (from where it can be re-activated anytime dependent on the situation), but permanently dissolve it, we have to dissolve the whole trauma-string. We do this by dissolving the one on very the bottom, the very first trauma of it's kind.

The most painful but also most reliable method to dissolve a trauma is to regress into the past and finally live through the pain that has originally been foreborne. In order to avoid retraumatisation we strech the axis of time, thus lowering the amplitude. In other words, we take more time and take smaller bites to avoid choking. Once the originating trauma is dissolved, the symptoms in the presence also vanish. For trauma symptoms are but reminders that there is still pain in store - reminders that there are still messages of life in our in-box that we have not read yet.

Fortunately it is not absolutely necessary that the originally intended addressee receives the message. Thanks to our advanced methods the PeakStates™ therapist can do this on behalf of the client.

Structures of consciousness

Close to 100% of the trauma-stacks originate in the pre- and perinatale phase of life. Generalizingly we can say: the earlier the trauma, the more we are identified with it's influences on adult life. Think of an avalance - early on it is a snowball, further down it can bury a man, and all the way down the valley it can raze houses. The cellular memory of our bodies reaches further back than most people can imagine.

Very very early trauma does not directly lead to problems of content of consciousness, but they inhibit the normal development of the very structures in which our consciousness is contained.

Using a very simplified picture we can say, that normal trauma leads to a dense, jammed spot in consciousness, that does not allow life to flow there. In the picture to the right we show consciousness as an amorph grey mass in a kind of jar, the jammed spot is depicted as the dark area to the left. With regression or other therapeutic methids we can go there, accept and thus dissolve the stored pain that has been stuffing this place. After this life can flow again.

But maybe the trauma happened bevore there even was a content of consciousness. Then the trauma leads to a deformation of the thing, that later turns into the structure or container of consciousness. In the lower picture we show this deformation as an indent to the left (highlightened by the arrow). In this case the observable symptom might be just the same - an spot where life cannot flow freely. And we can never be conscious of the structure itself, because it is outside of consciousness.

If we go there with conventional methods we still might be lucky, do some healing and experience relief. But it won't be for long, because the damaged structure is still applying pressure. Thus therapists see clients returning week after week with the same or very similar symptoms, in case they are able to help them even temporarily. Only when the dent is smoothened out like the dent in a fender, the symptom will vanish. It will vanish for good, without us ever dealing with consciousness content.

Normal trauma can sit anywhere in the past, thus we have to look for the roots of each symptom individually. This is why we call this kind of trauma also 'individual trauma'. The very very early traumas, that lead to flawed structures, have the disadvantage of being located way back in time, at the very beginnings of individual consciousness. It is very difficult to regress that far. But they have the advantage, that we know which developmental event is associated with which structural problem, because the developments of consciousness and it's structures happen in the same way and sequence in every human.

In order to fix a damaged structure of consciousness we strive to work by the two-man rule. In sessions the client meets with two PeakStates™ therapists. One of them is me, the other one a colleague from the ISPS, who might be hundreds or thousands of kilometers away. Thanks to our advanced methods distance isn't an issue. Some of the original symptoms may be directly removed by the advanced process, others turn into problems that can then be treated by conventional methods.

PeakStates™

Even though we usually do not refer to it as such, the absence of PeakStates™ is technically speaking a symptom of malformed structures of consciousness. If we would be able to devotedly fulfill all steps of development for the emergence of consciousness as set out by the creator, each and every one of us would be superhuman beyond imagination. We would be blissfully abounding with life, sporting every conceivable PeakState™ and every unusal or paranormal ability any man has every experienced.

Because this deficiency affects practically 100% of humanity, we do not call it such. We are orienting ourselves towards the average consciousness as the neutral axis. People who suffer beyond average are seen as having a deficit and said to have a problem. On the other hand those who feel and do better than average are called as 'having a PeakState™'.

If you happen to be one of the lucky individuals, who have had periods of amazing states of consciousness in their lives, here is a happy promise: there is a very realistic chance, that you regain this state and keep it for good.
